The Rise Difference
Basketball should be fun. We make sure it is. We make everything a challenge or game. We set goals and celebrate achieving them. We don’t do teams so there aren’t any set plays, just more time with the ball in your hands, playing and competing. We don’t teach through drills, we teach with modified games to engage players minds and give them something to play for every time they are on the floor.
Secondly, we teach with the complete basketball player in mind. There are no shortcuts to basketball success. It doesn’t make sense to learn to dribble by looking at the ball and then having to change that later. It doesn’t make sense to start with poor shooting form just so you can shoot far enough. It doesn’t make sense to forget about a weaker hand just because it is hard to dribble, pass and shoot with. We make sure things are done right and from the beginning. When you walk in the gym we see your full potential and won’t take shortcuts to get there.
Lastly, we believe in teaching players how to make great decisions on the basketball court. We don’t tell them what to do. We teach them how make the right decision as they play. This keeps it fun, engaging and turns our players into the ones coaches trust with the ball. Take a look at our Rise Basketball Player Development Decision Tree to see what we teach. We breakdown the skills and decisions you’ll need to make at the highest level of modern basketball into simple binary decisions and begin teaching players to make these decisions at all skill levels.
